Spring technically is here, but I’m still waiting for it. I actually had to scrape ice off my windshield this morning. I’m certainly looking forward to warmer weather!
A couple of weeks ago I learned of a great new tool to help create new Miss Mustardseed milk-paint colors. Its a color mixing tool to help painters create new colors without actually mixing up the paint. (link provided courtesy of the Purple Painted Lady who owns and created this clever mixing tool.) Its a very helpful tool and I came up with a couple of great new colors.
This first color is a mix of 1 part typewriter, 1 part flow blue and 3 parts grain sack. I would never have created this color on my own! Its a great grey blue.
I put this great new color on my french piggy butcher sign. The top coat of the sign is clear followed by dark Annie Sloan furniture wax.
The second color is a mix of 1 part mustardseed yellow and 2 parts linen. I was looking for a color that resembled scrambled eggs, and I came really close!
Here is the sign I made up from that color:
Hello Mama hen! This sign reminds me a little bit of spring! The Eggs sign is on consignment now at Stifel and Capra in Falls Church, VA. The little French pig is also for sale, and I will likely have it with me at Lucketts Spring Market.
Think Spring everyone and maybe it will really arrive!
Take care and thanks for stopping by!
I will be linking this post up with Miss Mustardseed’s Furniture Feature Friday. Thanks for hosting Marian!
