Industrial inspired table

Hi everyone

I have been very busy getting ready for Lucketts Holiday Open House (Nov 8-9-10).   My house is full of glittery bow-tied adorableness right now.    Very exciting!

I will not be bringing a lot of furniture to the event, but here is one piece I just finished up.   I LOVE how it turned out!    I wanted to create something with an industrial vibe to it.

bottling table

The base is a shorter than your usual treadle sewing machine base.   It measures 18″ tall (excluding the fly wheel)    Its a great height to use as a coffee table.

bottling table side

The top of the table is not an actual packing crate but something I created out of reclaimed knotty pine paneling and a stencil I made using my new Silhouette Cameo.

bottling table top

I created the hand-aged finish using a very watery stain made from Miss Mustardseed’s Typewriter milk paint.   I applied a furniture wax top coat for a soft matte sheen.

Absolute coolness!

Thank you for stopping by!

What an incredible coffee table this would make. Really love it. Like that base is shorter. I love things different, not the norm. I love how you did the top. Happy weekend

Love the way this turned out – very cool! So sad I couldn’t make to Lucketts this weekend! Hope it was a huge success!

    • Hi Sharon! Thanks for the compliment! Lucketts was a lot of fun, as always! Lots and lots of people! Even Sunday morning was very busy. I heard there was huge line to get into the Design House all weekend long. Everything went really well for me and this fun coffee table sold on the last day. It looks like your shop is all prettily decked out for the holidays too! I hope you enjoy the holiday season! Take care and thanks for stopping by! — Pauline
