Happy Spring everyone!!
And Happy Mothers Day to all of the moms out there!
I recently completed 2 pieces. The look and finish of these pieces are different from each other, but they are both very cute!
The first piece I painted on all 4 sides, and added a French poem stencil from Royal Design Studio. I used Annie Sloan Chalk paint and added a lot of different layers of paint for a unique finish. The top and drawers are a slightly different color from the body of the piece.
Just in case you are interested – below is the piece before I painted it. Very different, right? Its amazing what paint, hardware and imagination can do for a piece!
The next piece I completed is a dresser by Drexel. This piece is one of the best constructed pieces I have worked with. I stripped and refinished the top, then painted the body multiple of layers of green milk paint from Miss Mustardseed’s collection. I’m calling the finish “weathered green”. I also stripped the lacquer off of the brass hardware and polished them up so they shine beautifully. (Tip: Barkeeper’s Friend powder is a wonderful brass polish! I purchased mine at Target.)
I love the curves and detailing on this piece. I omitted the faux keyhole covers on the final piece as I thought they were too much. I prefer to let the curves be the focal point.
These pieces will be for sale at Lucketts Spring Market next weekend, May 16 and 17th. I will have a handful of mirrors with painted frames, as well as a LOT of silver-plated flatware, and some sterling pieces. There will be lots of sparkly things under my tent!! 🙂 I’m unsure of my exact location just yet, I just know I will be in the “Field of Gold”. So far the weather looks great! Cross your fingers that it will stay that way!
Hope to see you there!
I will link this post up with Miss Mustardseed’s Furniture Feature Friday.
